About
Hi, I'm Josh.
I run Square & Level on my own from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. I design and build websites for tradespeople and small businesses all over the UK, and I do it all remotely.
Before this, I served in the military and then worked in the police. Square & Level started when I helped a family member get his trade business off the ground. I'd been building websites and doing graphic design as a hobby for a while, and building his site made me realise I had a knack for it.
It also showed me how many tradespeople and small business owners are in the same position. They don't want anything complicated. They want a simple, good-looking website that gets the basics right and brings in customers. That's exactly what I build.
I love working with new businesses and helping people bring their ideas to life. Away from the desk, you'll usually find me outdoors with Ruby, my cocker spaniel.
Working remotely
Why not meeting up is easier.
Lots of people expect to sit down with a web designer. In practice, a few messages and a link to look at works better for everyone.
-
You don't need to take time off
Reply when it suits you: between jobs, on your lunch break or in the evening. No appointments to fit in.
-
You can see your site, not just hear about it
Instead of describing ideas across a table, I send you a link to your actual website. Look at it on your own phone, the way your customers will.
-
Everything's in writing
Prices, changes and dates are all in messages or emails, so there's no "I thought you said…" later.
-
It doesn't matter where you are
Cornwall to Caithness, it's exactly the same process and the same price.
Straight dealing
Why you can trust me with it.
Hiring someone you've never met is a fair worry. Here's how I make it a safe bet.
-
You see it before you pay
The example site is free. You only pay if you like it and want to go ahead, so you're never paying for something you haven't seen.
-
One payment, no contract
A fixed price, agreed first and paid once. No contract, no tie-in, no hourly rates and no add-ons sprung on you at the end.
-
You own it
Your domain name is registered in your name, and once it's paid for, the website is yours to keep. You're never locked in.
-
A real person you can reach
Joshua Williams, a sole trader based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, with a background in the military and the police. You'll have my phone number and email, and you'll always deal with me.
"I can't recommend Josh enough. I have seen a big increase in clients since my site went live, and for the price I am massively impressed with the work he has done. He got me a fully functioning, professional website sorted within 4 days of me sending everything over to him!"
Say hello
Tell me about your business.
A quick message is all it takes to start. I'll get back to you within one working day.
